Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Hery Setiawan ("we", "us"), the publisher of the Tenang mobile application ("Tenang", "the app"). By installing or using Tenang you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
Tenang is not a medical service and not an emergency service. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional. Nobody monitors what you write. If you are in crisis, contact emergency services (112 in Indonesia) or a crisis line immediately. Never delay seeking professional help because of anything in this app.
1. WHAT TENANG IS
Tenang is a self-help wellbeing journal offering mood tracking, private journalling, self-check questionnaires, breathing and grounding exercises, reminders, and optional AI-generated reflections. It is an informational and self-management tool intended for general wellbeing.
The PHQ-9 and GAD-7 questionnaires are publicly available screening instruments. Their scores are indicative only, are not a diagnosis, and must not be used to make medical decisions on their own. Discuss any result that concerns you with a qualified professional.
2. ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 17 years old, or 13 and over with the consent and involvement of a parent, guardian, or clinician. You must have legal capacity to enter into these terms. Tenang is not intended for children under 13.
3. YOUR ACCOUNT
An account is optional; Tenang works fully without one. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your password and PIN secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. YOUR CONTENT
Everything you write in Tenang (journal entries, thought records, intentions, self-check answers) remains yours. We claim no ownership over it and no licence to it beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the features you use: storing your backup if you sign in, generating AI text if you enable that feature, and displaying a public Feedback Board post if you choose to post one.
Public feedback board. If you post an idea on the public Feedback Board, its title, description, vote count, and date are visible to other users. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and moderate that post while it is on the board. You can ask us to remove it. If you delete your account, we anonymize the post by removing its link to your account; the text remains unless you ask us to remove it or we remove it after a valid report or copyright notice. Do not post content you do not have the right to share.

We do not read your entries. We do not use your content to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell, rent, or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
You are responsible for your own content and for keeping your own copies. Use Export in Settings to do so.
5. FREE AND PAID FEATURES
Core features are free and remain so: unlimited mood check-ins, journalling, self-checks, breathing and grounding tools, reminders, and the garden.
Tenang Pro adds AI coaching nudges, AI reflection reports, guided CBT tools, and deeper insights.
- Trial. Each account may start one free 14-day trial. No payment details are required, and it does not convert into a charge.
- Term. Monthly and weekly plans renew automatically through the App Store or Google Play until you cancel; manage or cancel in your store subscriptions. The 3-month plan is a one-time purchase and does not auto-renew — access ends when the period expires unless you choose to renew.
- Access. Pro is tied to your account, not your device, and works across your devices while active.
- Price changes. We may change pricing for future purchases. Any period you have already paid for is unaffected.
6. PAYMENT AND REFUNDS
Payment is processed by the App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your card or bank details. Your purchase is subject to that store's terms in addition to these.
Where you purchase through an app store, that store's refund policy and process apply and take precedence. The two stores differ in who can issue a refund: on Google Play we can issue one directly for genuine cases — email us and we will. On the App Store only Apple can issue refunds, so start at reportaproblem.apple.com; if your request stalls, email us and we will help make the case.
If a paid feature fails to work and we cannot fix it, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund the unused portion wherever the store lets us do so. We are not obliged to refund because you changed your mind, but we will consider requests fairly.
7. AI FEATURES
AI-generated nudges and reports are produced by a third-party language model from a statistical summary of your activity. Your journal text is never sent to the AI provider.
AI output is generated text. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. It is not clinical advice and not a professional opinion. Treat it as a prompt for your own reflection and nothing more. Availability, generation limits, and the underlying model may change or be withdrawn.
8. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to:
- Use Tenang unlawfully, or to harm yourself or another person
- Attempt to access another user's data or account
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app, except where law expressly permits it
- Circumvent entitlement checks, usage limits, or payment verification
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the app or its content
- Use automated means to place unreasonable load on our services
9. AVAILABILITY
Local features work offline and depend only on your device. Account, sync, and AI features depend on third-party services and network connectivity and may be interrupted, suspended, or discontinued. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We will give reasonable notice before discontinuing a paid feature and will refund any unused prepaid period if we do.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The app, its name, design, and content (excluding your own content and the third-party screening instruments) belong to us or our licensors. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Tenang for your own non-commercial purposes.

11. DISCLAIMERS
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tenang is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will meet your requirements, be error-free, or produce any particular outcome for your wellbeing.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Tenang. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or IDR 500,000.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection law.
13. TERMINATION
You may stop using Tenang at any time by deleting your data in Settings and uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, and will give notice where reasonably practicable. On termination your licence ends; sections 4, 11, 12, and 15 survive.
14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced in the app before taking effect. Continuing to use Tenang after that constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your data.
15. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Indonesia. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
