AES-256-GCM is the authenticated encryption standard Tenang uses for your local database. Once you set a passphrase, everything is encrypted with it before being written to your device.
The AI coach is Tenang's conversational companion. It doesn't run on your phone — it calls a server function, and every reply passes through a content filter before you see it. It is a Pro feature.
Every screen in Tenang ships in Indonesian and English side by side. There is no language setting to configure or get wrong.
The CBT tool is a guided exercise for examining unhelpful thought patterns, part of Tenang's Tools. It is self-care, not therapy, and it is a Pro feature.
The daily check-in is a quick note on how your day went — faster than a journal entry, lighter than a questionnaire. It works without an account and never punishes skipped days.
Export takes your entries out of Tenang from Settings, in a format you keep. Your history works outside the app, not just inside it — on the free plan too.
The garden is Tenang's gentle progress visual: it grows from every check-in you have ever done in total — never from streaks — and missing days takes nothing away.
The journal is Tenang's free-write space: longer entries in your own words, stored on your device by default and readable by nobody else once you set a passphrase.
Local-first means the app treats your device as the home of your data, not a cache of a server. Tenang's core works fully without an account or connection.
Your mood history is every check-in you have logged, kept as yours: exportable from Settings and deletable with one button, free plan included.
No-account mode is Tenang's default: the check-in, journal, and garden work the moment you open the app. An account only matters when you sync devices or subscribe.
Set a passphrase in Settings and your whole local database is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, with a key derived on your device via scrypt that never leaves it. Nobody — including us — can recover it for you.
Pro is Tenang's paid tier for a short, specific list: AI coach chat, the over-time Self-check Insights view, the CBT tool, extra guided meditations, and more than one reminder. The core stays free, starting with a one-time 14-day trial.
Scrypt is the deliberately slow, memory-hard function Tenang uses to derive your encryption key from your passphrase — built to resist brute-force guessing of short passphrases.
A self-check is a guided questionnaire that gives you one result at a time — a snapshot of where you are today, not a diagnosis.
Self-check Insights is the upcoming Pro view that looks at your history of self-checks together, showing trends over time instead of one result at a time. It is currently a waitlist.
The SOS screen is Tenang's crisis directory: 112 for emergencies and 119 (Sejiwa) for mental-health support in Indonesia, each one tap away. Tenang itself is self-care, not crisis care.
Streak-free means nothing resets when you stop: garden growth comes from total check-ins ever, and milestone badges come from your best streak ever. Skipping days costs you nothing.
Sync keeps two devices on the newest entries automatically and silently. With a passphrase set, it only ever moves already-encrypted data — the server never sees plaintext.
